To go to a place of study and find guidance there during sleep. That's what Inkaella, a 13-year old school girl starts to do as she moves to a farm named Poutala after her mother's death. She enjoys the summer on the farm learning new things and she finds a friend called Rami. They meet together in a small old cottage where no one lives any more. Inkaella finds books hidden in odd places there which fascinate her. One of them is called How to study during your sleep.

Inkaella is invited to attend The Dream Universities on the levels of light during her sleep instead of looking for dreams in a place called The Lists of Dreams where people usually look for dreams for themselves. In The Dream Universities Inkaella meets light beings who give lectures or guide people in other ways. She learns to ask for protective wear, to paint, to win her fears, to meditate the light, etc. She finds a friend, Katleena, and later she also meets Rami. She learns the concept of the might of the light, how to see light in another person, in oneself or for the planet earth.

The school starts in the autumn and finally Inkaella meets Katleena in the real life. Inkaella also learns about the shadow levels and she helps a school girl Aina not to go there during her sleep. Together with Katleena and Rami, they guide their teacher away from a house of learning on the shadow levels. With light beings, she goes to rescue her mother and some other people from the shadow levels.

A story of sleep and wakefulness, how to awaken to the light within, to see the unseen dimensions and to help others on the way - this is what Inkaella and the Might of the Light is all about. Including funny dreams in which Inkaella tries to overcome her fear of horses and once she is taken to a dream in the mountains by an accident.
